ENV 1187 Roofing Test 3
Compliance
ENV 1187 Test 3, ISO 12468, EN 13501-5
The ENV 1187 Roofing Test 3 Device is designed to determine the performance of roofing materials exposed to external radiant heat sources and flame.
ENV 1187 describes four test methods:
ENV 1187 Test 1 | With burning brands. |
ENV 1187 Test 2 | With burning brands and wind. |
ENV 1187 Test 3 | with burning brands, wind and supplementary radiant heat. |
ENV 1187 Test 4 | With two stages incorporating burning brands, wind and supplementary radiant heat. |
And, the tests listed above are independent and not substitutable with each other.
Test 1, 2, 3 assess the flame spread across the external surface of the roof.
Test 1, 3, 4 assess the penetration of the flame and the generation of burning molten droplets.
Test 2, 3 are not applicable to geometrically irregular roofing materials or roof-mounted equipment such as ventilation units and roof lights.
The test stand is made of welded metal tube, which is coated with black painting for long life use.
The test stand position can be adjusted by the pneumatic cylinder.
The angle of the test stand can be adjusted from 0 to 50 degrees, which meets the requirements of ISO 12468 and ENV 1187.
The duct is made of stainless steel and with grilles in the duct and outlet.
The duct can be automatically adjusted the angle from 0 to 35 degrees.
With a blower to provide airflow up to 250m3/min.
With an anemometer to measure the airflow, with an accuracy of 0.1m/s.
The radiant panel dimension is 600mm by 600mm, can provide the radiant heat up to 15 kW/m2.
Provide a heat flux meter to measure the radiant heat flux.
Provide pilot flame burner, and gas control unit.
Provide a control cabinet, with the gas control device, control unit, and display meters.
