SAE J2302 Test
Compliance
SAE J2302
The SAE J2302 Test Apparatus measures the resistance to the radiant heat of insulating materials in the sleeve, tubing, or tape form. The sleeve’s effectiveness (SE), is determined by the difference in surface temperature of a ceramic cylinder with and without the sleeve exposed to a specified radiant heat source.
Features
The SAE J2302 test apparatus consists of the hot box, radiant heat source, holding stud, temperature control system, and temperature measurement system.
The hot box, assembled by aluminum stud and thermal-insulation (fire-resistant) board, is with an internal dimension of 50cm by 50cm by 50cm.
The radiant heat source, using Raymax 1330 radiant heater, is 320mm long by 75mm wide, with maximum heating up to 540 degrees.
The thermal heater output is 1100w, with surface self-cleaning capability.
The thermal heater is with K type thermocouple inside, wire gauge at 0.5mm (AWG 24), measuring temperature up to 600 degrees, with an accuracy of ±3 degrees.
The temperature controller is autotuning type controller, control range of up to 600 degrees, with an accuracy of ±1 degree.
The ceramic cylinder rod, diameters of 16mm and 320mm long, and other diameter rods are optional.
The Test clamping device, holds the radiant heater and ceramic rod with adjustable level and height according to the various sample size.
The data acquisition device, with a temperature recording range of up to 600 degrees, a resolution of 0.1 degrees, and a time recording resolution of 0.1 second.
The SAE J2302 is PLC controlled, and automatic run to steady-state. With standard test procedure and calculation function.
