Thermal Protective Performance Tester
Compliance
NFPA 1971, ASTM D4018, ISO 17492
The Thermal Protective Performance Tester (TPP) is for measuring the heat transfer of horizontally mounted flame-resistant textile materials when exposed to a combination of convective and radiant heat sources. This test equipment is normally used to evaluate the thermal insulation performance of flame retardant protective clothing fabrics used in the protective clothing, safety shoes, gloves, outer surfaces of helmets, etc.
It complies with the test standards such as NFPA 1971, ASTM D4018, ISO 17492.
The Thermal Protective Performance Tester consists of
The TPP comprises of combination heat source, movable sample holder assembly, movable heat insulation shutter, heat flux calorimetry, data acquisition system, test control system, and operation software.
The combination heat source includes 2 Meker burners and 9 quartz T-500 infrared tubes, providing a total 83kw/m2 heat source.
The Meker burner is placed at 45° and supplied with propane gas, providing 800-1200BUT heat output.
The movable heat insulation shutter is located between heat source and sample holder, insulates the heat transfer before the test, and auto moves aside when the test started.
The movable sample holder assembly used to load the test sample and calorimeter, can auto move to the position and move out when the time is ended.
Provides a water-cooled heat flux meter for calibration and a copper-discs calorimeter for the test.
The water-cooled heat flux meter is with a water cooling system, which is maintain-less in its lifetime.
The temperature measurement resolution is up to 0.1 degrees.
Fully auto test procedure, computerized control, auto sample feeding, time recording, temperature measuring, and result calculation.
